Dr. Rafael S. Garcia-Cortes is a Puerto Rican fiction writer, electrical engineer and physician/transplant cardiologist.
Catharsis, the author's debut novel, is a unique story about a burned-out physician that receives a letter saying “You have one year to live.” Set in Puerto Rico, it combines elements of speculative fiction and magical realism with the medical sciences, creating a powerful prose that can only be narrated through RGC’s voice. The author currently lives in Indianapolis area with his family.
